These grilled lamb koftas are seasoned to perfection and paired with a creamy peperoncini tzatziki sauce that adds a tangy, spicy twist. This Mediterranean-inspired dish is bursting with bold flavors and makes for a deliciously satisfying meal or party appetizer.

Instructions

  1. To make the tzatziki, grate the cucumber into a bowl lined with a clean kitchen towel and, once grated, gather the towel together and ring all of the moisture out of the shredded cucumber. 
  2. Discard the liquid and add the shredded cucumber back to the bowl. Add the Greek yogurt, Mezzetta® Sliced Golden Greek Peperoncini, garlic, fresh dill, lemon juice and salt and pepper to the bowl and stir to combine. Set aside until ready to use.  
  3. Add the lamb, grated onion, panko, garlic, cilantro, Mezzetta® Pitted Greek Kalamata Olives, cumin, coriander, smoked paprika, cinnamon and salt and pepper to a large bowl and mix to combine. Divide the mixture into 1-ounce portions and form the koftas onto the bamboo skewers and grill on both side until cooked through. Transfer to the oven to finish if needed. 
  4. Spread a generous amount of tzatziki on a serving platter, add the kofta and top with a drizzle of Mezzetta® Peperoncini Hot Sauce, Mezzetta® Sliced Golden Greek Peperoncini, Mezzetta® Pickled Red Onions and mint leaves to garnish.
