"Pep In Your Step" Chicken Sliders

These sticky, spicy Hot Honey Chicken Sliders feature juicy chicken thighs drizzled with a homemade hot honey, topped with a zesty pickled pepper slaw made with only the best Mezzetta® peppers for a burst of tangy heat, all nestled in a soft slider bun.
- 1/2 cup Sliced Hot Jalapeño Peppers divided
- 1/2 cup divided
- 6 Hot Chili Peppers stems removed and divided
- 6 Sweet Cherry Peppers stems removed and divided
- 1/4 cup water as needed
- 2 cups honey
- 6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 2 dill pickles sliced
- 1/4 cup Spicy Pickled Onions
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
- Slider rolls for serving
- Mayonnaise for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F.
- Add ¼ cup Mezzetta® Sliced Hot Jalapenos, ¼ cup Mezzetta® Hot Banana Pepper Rings, 3 Mezzetta® Hot Chili Peppers, 3 Mezzetta® Sweet Cherry Peppers and water to a blender and puree until smooth. Add more water a tablespoon at a time as needed.
- Add to a saucepot, add the honey and bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Once the mixture starts to boil, remove from the heat and set aside.
- Add the chicken thighs to a 9x13 baking dish, season with salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil. Transfer to the oven to roast for 10 minutes.
- While the chicken bakes, roughly chop the remaining Mezzetta® Sliced Hot Jalapenos, Mezzetta® Hot Banana Pepper Rings and Mezzetta® Hot Chili Peppers, Mezzetta® Sweet Cherry Peppers and add to a bowl with the sliced dill pickles, Mezzetta® Spicy Pickled Onions, parsley and chives. Mix to combine and set aside.
- Carefully pour the warm hot honey mixture over the chicken and return to the oven for an additional 15 minutes or until sticky and reduced.
- Spread a bit of mayo on both sides of a cut slider roll, add half of a chicken thigh and pickle slaw and serve.
